Santo Domingo.- Actor William Levy is in town to film “Cinderello” whose production will begin soon in Santo Domingo. The actor will stay in the Dominican capital for 4 weeks, and will then relocate to Pinewood Dominican Republic Studios in Juan Dolio, where the production will wrap up.
“Cinderello” is directed by Beto Gómez, the director of “Salvando al Soldado Pérez” (*Saving Soldier Pérez) and produced by Rafael Muñoz and Alfonso Rodríguez for Lantica Pictures.
Asides Levy, the cast features actors Miguel Rodarte, and Dominican talents Stephany Liriano, Luis José Germán and Solly Durán. It’s a Rom-com that will portray the magic and charm of an island where even fairytales can come true.
Pantelion Films, Lantica’s strategic partner will be responsible for the international distribution of the film in the U.S and Mexico movie theaters.
Cinderello tells the story of Marlon Flores, a photographer that always btings out -through his pictures- the inner beauty in others, except his own. Being ugly and insecure has earned him the rejection of all women, and has prevented him from seeing that María, his assistant, loves him just as he is. One night, tired of being pushed away, Marlon meets a mysterious gentleman who claims to be his “Fairy Godfather”, and whom through a spell, makes Marlon turn into Brando, an irresistible hunk. Things won’t be easy for Marlon nor for his handsome alter ego, especially when the spell becomes his greatest obstacle to overcome in the quest for true love.
Rafael Muñoz expressed that “Cinderello” reaffirms our commitment to take Dominican content to global aduiences. We have great expectations for this project, which we aim to gather an excellent talented cast and crew, all of them working so passionately. Everyone who’s come to form part of the team, has fallen in love with the plot and its characters.
We’re going to have a ball this time.
